The Possible Reason Nigeria First Female Combat Helicopter Pilot, Tolu Arotile Was Killed By Classmates

Written by on 20 July 2020

The Death of Tolulope Arotile the first Nigerian female combat Helicopter pilot came as a rude shock to her family and many Nigerians. The manner by which her Death was announced has generated mixed reactions among eminent personalities has made calls to the Nigeria Air force to conduct a thorough investigation leading to her Death.
Many are of the opinion that tolu death is shrouded in mystery as her family are yet to come to terms that such a promising young lady should be cut down at her prime.
Just recently, the late sister of the flying officer, Damilola Adebayo said she suspected a foul play in circumstances surrounding her junior sister’s Demise. She revealed that a senior officer called her when they were together and that she was the one that dropped her off when she was reluctant to go and to her dismay her Death was announced few hours later. She described the reported accident as a ” freaky one “
Corroborating her belief, the Aare Ona kakanfo of Yoruba land Chief Gani Adams has rejected the explanations of the NAF. The OPC leader quarried the NAF over the manner by which the officer died citing their report as flimsy and shabby.
He has called on the Military to carry out explicit investigation leading to the gallant officers Death. Tolu is the only female combat pilot who has been fighting Boko Haram terrorists.
The NAF needs to answer the following questions;
Who was the officer that called the young lady even when she was practically not on Duty?
Why is the NAF hiding the identity of the supposed ex- classmate of Tolulope who was so excited that he or she has to reverse at a full speed enough to knock her down.
I mean what is the ex- classmate name?
Is the ex- classmate an officer too? As a trained personnel what is the distance of Arotile to the car that she could not jump from the path of the reversing car? The profile of the Driver of the vehicle that knocked her down should be made public. The time, place in fact, every details of the ex- classmate should be in black and white to exonerate the military from any suspicion of complicity.
Most importantly was she taken for Emergency treatment after the accident before she was confirmed Dead?
These questions should be tabled before the NAF and Nigerians deserves to know how their heroine died.
With the recent resignation of about 365 Army personnel’s citing low morale and loss of interest, it is easy to suggest that all is not well in the Nigeria Military.
Now that there is a mystery surrounding the Death of officer Tolulope Arotile, the NAF must come out clean to clear doubts that the flying officer’s death is an accident and not a a case of murder.
immediate elder sister of the first female combat helicopter pilot in the history of Nigerian Air Force , who died on Tuesday, has demanded an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Arotile’s death.
Damilola Adegboye, who is the elder sister of the deceased, said that their family is not convinced about the report on what led the the death of Arotile.
” We are not convinced Tolu can just die like that In a Freak Accident, We therefore demand a full scale investigation into what led to Tolu’s death “- Damilola Adegboye said in an interview with Punch.
Recall that, this came as a result of the statement released by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), in which they revealed that, the late 20-year-old Tolulope died after she was knocked down by the reversing vehicle of an excited former Air Force Secondary School classmate , while trying to greet her.
Sequel to this, Tolu’s elder sister is demanding that the the Nigerian Air Force, should start the process of serious investigation on Arotile’s death, so as to convince them against all doubt that it was really the alleged incident that caused her death.
Speaking with Punch, Damilola had explained how she and her late sister were on the same room that day, and Tolu received a call , which she suspected was a senior officer. At first Tolu felt reluctant to answer the call from the office, but she decided to drop her off, then an hour later she heard that something terrible has happened to her.
It is really heartbreaking, the family of the deceased is trying so hard to cope with this unbelievable death news about their gallant soldier, their lovely daughter.
Nigeria may be lagging far behind in every index of development but this does not mean that those who have a modicum of education should not use that knowledge for simple situation-analysis, especially when the mind is put to use doing correlation analyses.
No matter how Boko Haram and its ilk want us to behave and live out our lives, we cannot deny the fact we are now part of the global enlightenment community and that is why we shut down our society in lockdown mode when the global community went into necessary lockdown. While I commiserate with the parents and siblings of the young warfighter, Flight Officer Tolulope Arotile, over her death I took the liberty to do correlation analysis and wondered why gung-ho anti-Boko Haram warfighters of the Nigerian military get killed in suspicious circumstances.
First, recall that an artillery colonel who was so successful in command against Boko Haram was suddenly recalled from the field and transferred to an instructorship at the military post in Jaji, Kaduna State; this colonel was, surprisingly, kidnapped in a most simplistic fashion and subsequently murdered.
Forget the bullshit by the police authority that some “miscreants” carried out this deed. Think deep. Boko Haram has connections everywhere. Didn’t Goodluck Jonathan say that much? Second, those in the know will always tell you that the gallant Lt. Col. Abu Ali, a tank battalion commander, died in unexplained, very simplistic circumstance; there was the whispered rumour of a new-found lover luring him out to ambush.
A lover in the midst of the Northeast wilderness? What kind of woman lives and thrives in Boko Haram country and keep her poise and grace so as to attract the attention of a dashing lieutenant colonel of the Nigerian Army? Think deep. Third, who has forgotten the death of that young combat chopper pilot from Bayelsa State who met his death in circumstance that raised suspicion and caused great consternation amongst the people of Bayelsa State? Think deep. Those in the know say that that ill-fated flight was wrongly marshalled out and the yarn that that expensive and sophisticated craft was taken out by “Boko Haram fire” was, well, just a yarn.
What kind of military glorifies Boko Haram prowess and tactical abilities in a time of warfare? Fourthly, this is all about Officer Tolu: we are being regaled by the yarn that some freak car accident caused her death inside the complex of the Nigerian Air Force Base at Kaduna. Convenient circumstance. Think deep. Boko Haram has deep connections everywhere.
To begin, let us all not forget that Boko Haram is not your typical flash-in the-pan terror group but these killers are artfully contrived to help spread a key message of the creed, viz: “Westernisation is threatening the faith.”
The message of Boko Haram seeps into the hearts and essence of believers and so it comes as no surprise that, even far back in the Goodluck Jonathan administration, important army generals have been implicated collaborating with Boko Haram against the overall interests of a “pagan and secularist” Nigeria. Didn’t one of those army big-boss almost get himself shot up by miffed special forces soldiers who accused him of betraying their colleagues to Boko Haram in the midst of operations? What is troubling me about the death of Flight Officer Tolulope Arotile is the pattern that can be made out of the deaths of other anti-terror influential warfighters.
